Hitec is proud to announce the HG-5000 micro heading lock gyro with the “extreme speed” HSG-5083MG Digital Micro Tail Rotor servo.The HSG-5083 was built specifically for the HG-5000 to obtain optimum performance in the T-Rex 400-450 & Raptors or similar class of helis.  At 0.35 oz the HG-5000 is very light and small, yet yields performance equal or better than any other Gyro available.

When the helicopter encounters a cross-wind and the tail drifts, a control signal from the gyro computes the drift angle and constantly outputs a control signal that resists the cross-wind. This stops drifting of the tail even in moderate/strong cross-winds. The gyro itself will automatically auto trim to keep the  helicopter flying in the same direction ie keep a heading locked. Also when the tail of the helicopter rotates, the servo also rotates in accordance with angle of rotation of the tail. When the tail stops rotating, the servo judges that it has stopped in that position.
